Commitment
Voidstar Labs wants voidstarlabs.gg (the “Site”) to be usable by everyone, whatever hardware, software, or assistive technology they bring to it. Our target is conformance with the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 at level AA. The Site is one console page plus the three transmission documents (Terms, Privacy, and this statement); the console is deliberately theatrical, and this page is honest about where the theatre gets in the way.
What Works
- Keyboard operation. The program switches are real buttons: reach them with Tab, flip them with Enter or Space. The tuned switch is announced as pressed, and keyboard focus is shown as a lamp-style ring. Channel keys work anywhere on the console: the number keys tune the programs in panel order (0 returns to standby, H hails), and Escape also returns to standby; the bezel spells them out. When 0 or Escape removes the program you were on, keyboard focus moves to the STANDBY control rather than being lost.
- Structure. The console and these documents expose header, navigation, main, and footer landmarks, a page heading, and labelled sections, so screen-reader users can jump straight to the programs or the contact links.
- Reduced motion. When your operating system asks for reduced motion, the ambient animation — lamps, scan roll, the black hole, the comms ticker — stops.
- Ticker control. The scrolling comms line at the foot of the console has a HOLD control that pauses it.
- Previews. Tuning a program shows a poster of its site, an image with a text alternative, under a case-file line that reads the program’s code, channel, kind, year, status and address. Two controls follow: OPEN, a link to the site itself in a new tab, and LIVE FEED, a toggle button (announced as pressed) that loads the site in a sandboxed frame hidden from assistive technology and removes it again.
- Decoration is marked decorative. Telemetry readouts, lamp labels, bezel stamps, and the black hole carry no information you need and are hidden from screen readers.
- These documents are plain HTML with no scripts beyond analytics, no motion, body text at 14 px, and reflow that works at 200 % zoom and on phones.
Known Limitations
- Dense, small telemetry. The decorative readouts are intentionally tiny (down to 8 px) and low-contrast in places. They are set dressing — nothing you need is only in them.
- Previews are pictures, not pages. The poster is a still and the live feed is a scaled-down rendering; neither can be operated inside the console. Use each program’s OPEN link to visit the site itself, where its own accessibility applies.
- CRT effects. Scanlines, phosphor glow, and the screen-change flash are part of the design and cannot be switched off individually; the reduced-motion setting removes the moving parts.
- Fixed chassis. The console fills the viewport and does not scroll as a page; its panels scroll internally. Below 560 px of viewport height — a phone held sideways, or 200 % zoom on a small laptop — the page scrolls normally instead, so nothing is clipped, at the cost of the fixed-chassis effect.

This statement was last reviewed on 2026-08-23 against WCAG 2.1 AA by Voidstar Labs. It is revised whenever the console changes in a way that affects operation, and the change is recorded in the transmission log below.
